Hello,

I was just wondering if it would be possible to create a platform with basically 2 different CPUs.

Main CPU: ARM7-based
Sub CPU: NEC V850

I think both will have to be connected through an SPI Bus.

Could you provide some guidelines in how I can go about it?

As a start download the 'Multi-Core Platform Examples' from either the ARM or MIPS download pages which shows a platform with ARM and MIPS32 processors communicating using shared memory.

If you want them to communicate via an SPI you will need to create a basic SPI peripheral. Take a look at the Peripheral Modelling Guide. Note: You don't need to create a representation of the physical SPI connection; you need to model the register set (so the software sees an SPI device interface) and then you can connect a dedicated bus between the SPI peripherals to transfer data, this could be in any form, it just needs to get the messages from A to B!
